Peter Dalton Rich, age 59, of Murfreesboro, passed away on December 1, 2012 at his home. In recent years Peter called Murfreesboro, TN home, but in truth, the world was his home.

Peter, a native of Johannesburg, South Africa, served in the South African Air Force, was a commercial pilot, and was founder and CEO of a successful publically traded computer manufacturing company in South Africa. However, his true passion was exploring the world. He was able to travel to every continent and embraced the differences found in people and their cultures. Peter was always looking for the next great adventure and one of his greatest achievements was sailing across the Atlantic Ocean and experiencing the kind of things many of us only hold in our dreams. He always wanted it said that "he did everything". He can now rest in peace knowing he did do everything..

While living in Middle Tennessee, Peter had worked as an Operations Manager at Stones River Mall and more recently was a Facilities Management consultant throughout the Southeast.

His friends and family will miss him terribly; however, he will always be in our hearts and minds at each sunset. For as he said, "appreciate the setting of the sun each day, because like people…no two sunsets are ever the same".

Peter was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Nesta Botes Rich. He is survived by his wife, Susan Dickerson Rich of Murfreesboro; daughters, Debbie Claire Johansson of Long Beach California, Lisa Anne Rich of South Africa, Danica Deans of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Sarah Elizabeth Hensley of Hermitage, and son Robert Lee Hensley of Murfreesboro.

A celebration Peter's extraordinary life will take place at a future date on St. Pete Beach in Florida where he enjoyed the most awesome sunsets. For further information regarding the celebration service and memorial donations the family can be contacted directly at
