Edna Louise Nix, age 86, of Murfreesboro, passed away on January 24, 2012. She was a native and life long resident of Rutherford County and a member of Antioch Church of Christ. Edna was the founder and operator of The Bridal and Formal Shoppe in Murfreesboro and continued to do alterations for the store after her retirement in 1990. She was also a former employee of General Electric.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Beady and Lela Mae Hoover Bowling; husband, Herman Nix; and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Tom (Robin) Brown of Lascassas; Judy (Dan) Russell of Murfreesboro; five grandchildren, Chris Brown, Del Mathis, Jill McHenry, Brian Brown and Tommy Russell; and six great-grandchildren.

A chapel service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Rev. Joe Dill officiating. Burial will follow at Coleman Cemetery.
